problem with counter-strike under winxp..it wont let me play..memory address error

i get the error 000000000x000000000 or something to that effect everytime i try to play...im not quite understanding what is going wrong here

i always got it to work under win2k, its just having some issues in xp...anyone seen this problem? have a remedy?
 
there are a couple things you should try:
1) uninstall powertoy if you have it installed.. it's known to causes problem running cs
2) try to upgrade/downgrade your video card driver and see if the newer/older driver solves your problem or not
3) try not to run any background program such as virus scanner or im while playing the game.


i have no problem running cs under winxp pro.. i have 512mb ram and i have virtual memory disabled.. altho i'm using geforce 2.
