Hi folks,
*
I was the more experienced builders here could help me. *I have a CoolerMaster Cosmos that has intermittently given me a black screen when I start to plus a USB device into the front ports. *The screen goes black and nothing will bring the system back up other than a reset. *This sometimes happens just as the USB connector touches the port. *Ive also noticed that even if the system doesnt lock up, the transfer of data from memory sticks can be really slow and sometimes fails.
*
I wasnt sure if this was a problem with my P35 Gigabyte board, or the actual case. *Ive used the rear USB ports (though its a long reach around the Beast) and havent had this issue. *Is it more likely to be a short somewhere in the cases wiring from the front ports, or is it more likely that my *motherboard connectors are just finicky *or susceptible to static?
*
Im actually in the process of switching to a smaller Coolermaster case and I would like to remedy this before I try to sell the Cosmos to someone that truly needs such a massive case. *
*
Oh bonus question- my new case has a Coolermaster 120mm fan in the top. *I assume this fan is the same as the ones in my Cosmos. *I was wondering if a higher end fan would be a lot quieter (maybe a Scythe?) or would any noise reduction be pretty neglible?
*
Thanks again for any advice!
