Problem With Corsair Memory

I recently bought some Corsair memory for my friend without making sure it was the same exact memory I have (we have pretty much identical systems) and it doesn't work at all.The memory blue screens his computer over and over again right after it boots up.

He and I have an Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus mobo and I accidentally bought him Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X1024-6400C4 (4-4-4-12 latency). I run CM2X1024-6400 (5-5-5-12 latency) without a problem.

When I checked the Qualified Vendors List on the Asus site it said: The DIMM Support for his memory is for A and C, while mine was good for A, B and C. Our motherboard only has 4 RAM slots. I don't really know if that's relevant but I thought it may be.

So with all that said, I guess the only difference I can tell between the memories is that the latency (and I guess voltages?) are different. So can I fix the problem by changing those settings in the BIOS?

The memory still doesn't work when I put the latency to 4-4-4-12 or the voltage to 1.9.

I'm guessing it's just imcompatable for some reason. I just don't know.

the twin2x1024-6400c4 needs 2.1 volts. you need to set the bios to give it 2.1 volts. default voltage is 1.9 which is why the cm2x1024-6400 works.

you can leave the latency at 5-5-5-12.
