Problem with computer

Here are my moms computer specs, I built the computer myself.

Duron 600Mhz (was overclocked)
128 MB of RAM
20GB WD 7200 RPM ATA 100
Abit KT7A RAID
SB Live!
Geforce 2 MX I believe 32MB

Here was my problem. I went to upgrade the memory on it, so I got another stick of RAM (generic) and somehow it fried the motherboard, I was mad. I got other people's opinions on the matter and the processor was checked and it worked fine. So I purchased a new motherboard, the ABIT KG7 RAID motherboard and here is what happens when EVERYTHING is hooked up. I turn it on and the fans spin up, seems like the CD-ROMS spin up....everything seems to be working, but nothing goes on the screen, no post no anything. I thought it could be a video card problem, but then wouldn't it at least give me a beep that everything is O.K. like everything passed? Memory is DDR now since I had to switch motherboards and its brand new. Everything is connected, it should work. But it is not. The motherboard is brand new. What could it possibly be? Power supply?
