Problem with computer not booting up

Hello guys,
I am having problems with my computer not booting up now. So what happens is that I turn it on and the reset light just goes on for couple seconds but then turns off. I have a DFI NF4 SLI motherboard and the diagnostic lights are just left at 4. If anyone know what that means. I think maybe the cpu could be dead. Any help please?

ahh i just found this on someone elses post..

4 LEDs on = Power applied, checking CPU
3 LEDs on = CPU has been detected OK, checking RAM
2 LEDs on = RAM has been detected OK, checking VGA
1 LED on = VGA has been detected OK, entering BIOS
0 LEDs on = System has booted to the Operating System

So im guessing my cpu is dead now...

He was refering to the capacitors. There is a known issue where capacitors will bulge and leak fluid after a period of time. The caps on your board look like tiny tin cans.

More info here

But, before going through the trouble of checking your caps, try doing a google search on your board and error lights to see if there is a simple guide as to what they mean.

(also, double checking all your connections is a good idea) 😉

EDITNice searching, lol! Looks like maybe a CPU issue...

since all 4 lights show up, that means that my cpu was not detected.... which is not good.

Oh im at work now so i can't check the capacitors... but i will tonight though. thanks
