In a dual boot configuration. (I have no idea if this has anthing to do with my problem)
I didn't have internet for about 4 months so I didn't bother with antivirus, or spyware tools or anything.
I decided to get internet back up, so I:
Opened administrative tools/services: and proceeded to disable certain items (yeah yeah I should of knew more before undertaking this task)
My primary concern was issues like messenger service, that lets you get random spam.
Anyways this wasnt that long ago.
Now though this is my problem. When I load a new disk into either my lite-on dvd drive, or my nec dvdrw drive, it doesnt auto play. I hear the drive reading the disk.
This in itself wouldnt bother me I know how to set the drive up to autoplay.
What bugs me is when I look at my drives from my computer, the drive never updates.
For example, lets say I left Spiderman dvd in the drive, and I turned on my computer, and it shows spiderman in drive d:. So I eject spiderman, and pop in my Morrowind cd, and the drive still is labled spiderman. even if I open it and play morrowind it will stay spiderman until I reboot, then it will change to morrowind, or go blank if there is no disk in the drive.
So my question is. does anyone know which services I need to enable in administrative tools in order for my optical drives to update when new media is inserted, or when media is removed?
Thanks in advanced, and more after I get this fixed!
