Problem with CD and BIOS

When I purchased my PC a few years ago it was fitted with both CD and Blu Ray players, I have only ever used the Blu Ray in that time.
The reason for this post is that for several days I have been battling with the "BAD IMAGE" error message, all efforts have been a waste of time, I have just tried to alter the BIOS to boot from the CD however I find that the CD drive is apparently not recognised and the Blu Ray option is not in the BIOS.If there is any advice as to either of my problems it would be appreciated.

Show a pic of this "BAD IMAGE" error message ,also a few pics of your bios would help, you can't expect people to be able to help you without some basic info.

Also what are you trying to boot a win install disk? I guess with cd you mean dvd drive since cdrom drives haven't been build into pc for a long time now.
You will have to make sure that the win install disk is actually bootable and made for your bios version there are some that only boot on older bios and others that will boot on uefi.

There are so many mentions of it on a Google search I assumed that it was well known; sorry about that; here is link; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QMOvwXrj_w
Incidentally I have tried most if not all of these suggested solutions without success; scannow indicates all is well.

I was trying to boot from the oem disk that came with the PC to try and repair the problem, I guess I will not know if it will boot until I try it. Yes it is a DVD I am used to referring to it as a CD to differentiate from the Blu Ray.
Before you ask, I am unable to use System Restore, I have now discovered that it was turned off by the vendor from day one on the SSD where the OS is located; I have had no need of it until now.

Check to see if secure boot is turned off in the BIOS... It may need to be in order to boot from a CD or DVD.
