Yep, looks like it's a known problem then and not just me and my setup.

So, is anyone using ATI Tool for voltage and fan control, but not overclocking? And using CCC to overclock instead? While using 6.6 Chuck patch? Sounds like the combo I'm gonna havta go after. I'll give it a shot tonight and see how it goes.

Are you over 650 core and can you play videos and not lock up? Of course without using a default profile.

Yes.

I now have 3d detection on also gonna test that later maybe thats the key to making it work cause I didnt use it before.

Nope 3d detection didnt work for me running ay 702/800, oh well I will leave it stock and check for maybe an updated Ati Tool that works later. Videos still locked up. :(

Same here. I'm just leaving it at default most of the day (when the wife and kids use it), and then just load my overclocking profile in ATI Tool when I'm ready to game later in the evening (and then back to default again after). Luckily, I haven't run into a single game that crashes. Only mpg/avi played outside of a game.

I use 3D detection. Also, my 2D profile has slower speeds than the 3D profile, but I bumped the voltages.

2D:

1.425/2.086/2.086/1.486

3D:

1.450/2.149/2.149/1.486

I don't even use the "Default" profile.

ATI Tool seems to work fine with the 700/800mhz 3D speeds I have it set to. The automatic 3D detection doesn't work in most games, but adding my game exes to the "force 3D mode" list fixes that. The temperature monitoring feature also causes some strange problems with the fan speeds, but they go away if I turn that off.
