Problem with burned DVDs

I used DVDShrink to make copies of a lot of DVDs. With almost all of these, the copies can not be browsed in windows explorer or played with media player or the ATI multimedia center. ISOBuster has no problem viewing them, however, and if I create images and mount those, the images play perfectly.

What would cause a DVD not to work when images created from that DVD work fine?

DVD was not burned properly.

What software did you use to burn the DVD? Make and model of media used. And speed the DVD was burned at.

You can check out this site for proper burning tutorials and lots of other information. It's a great site I used to get myself started in that area.

Make sure when you burn the IFO, VOB files, what have you, that the root on the DVD Data disc is VIDEO_TS. Just stuff all the files in there and you should be good to go.

Suggest you at least buy an OEM copy of Nero 6, and burn the shrinked files in DVD-Video mode in Nero. Put the shrinked files in the VIDEO_TS folder.

I already have Nero 6 -- DVDShrink by itself doesn't do it right?

Interestingly I found the DVDs work more often if I force the drive read speed down to 1x or 2x with Nero drive speed. They are 4x Memorex DVD+Rs.
