Problem with Avengine.exe

Does anybody know what the process Avengine.exe do ?

Im having a very bad time with my PC, I determined under the task manager--> processes, there is the Avengine.exe. The problem is that with some aplications or particularly in windows explorer, this process will take 100% of CPU capasity. This could take up to several minutes or in some cases translate into "program not responding errors"

Pleas if you have any sugestion HELP !!!

Just did a quick search on Google but nothing came up but it sounds like an Anti-Virus programme running in the backgroup to me - you have any anti virus software running?

Thank you Mitzi, I did checked and itb is an antivirus program aplication.

Its from Panda, I contacted them and they did admit to having a problem with this aplication, but they had an upgrade that solved the problem.
