Problem with Auction (Bait and switch tactic)

What can I do (other than post a negative feedback) if a retailer/seller false advertises on Egay? I purchased a scooter on it; it had a wheel bar on the main picture. link And now, after many calm emails to try to work it out, they admit that they had made a mistake in posting the picture with the wheel bar and refused to fulfill their obligations to send the bar as pictured because of their mistake. I would not have bought it if it didn't have the wheel bar. Any thoughts?

A lot of people on here bash Ebay, but I actually buy quite a bit of stuff from there. As long as you only buy from people with high approval ratings, you shouldn't have problems.

this seller had quite a lot of positives.. first they promised that they would send me a wheelie bar free of charge about 11 days ago. and today i received the message that they would not honor their promise. i still have those emails. and now they want me to pay for a wheelie bar: 11 bux! what a rip-off! it's like selling a laptop and not including a keyboard because there was a mistake with the picture and the keyboard wasn't listed in their bulleted list. i doubt they will accept a refund because i used it and do not have the box anymore. i will think about using egay as a arbitrator; i read somewhere of a free service in egay that does that. the seller is still there; just not registered. keep those ideas coming.. they really help

Yes, that constitutes misrepresentation (at least) and fraud (at worst). Since you have the emails from them where they admitted to being in error and were willing to rectify the situation, contact egay and ask them to help you sort things out. Further, contact the seller and tell them you will file a claim in small claims court against them if they don't follow through on their earlier promise.

i bought something that was described as "brand new" but came defective and with things missing that should have came together in the box. was not able to contact the seller ever since i paid him using money order. lounged a report with egay, and sent in an insurance claim as well. now pending. i guess that's what you could do as well.

well! i gave them an ultimatum that i would take the matter to egay's fraud protection program and will settle for anything less than a wheelie bar and it looks like they conceeded! they will ship a wheelie bar to me today (although they are still mad about the whole ordeal). good thing i had them place the feedback first 🙂

any suggestions on what kind of feedback i should give them?

if companies think they can trample a customer just because one customer won't mean anything, they are wrong because this here customer will sue to the supreme court to get his $12 wheelie bar 😀

thats nice to see people working things out. Why cant we all just get along??? and wat the f*ck is up with not being able to type egay?? wat's wrong with it??? I love egay... thats where all the suckers r that buy my parts for double the value...
