I installed this and my computer is crazy now... I have a SBLIVE Plat 5.1, Hurc GF2 Ultra 64mb. I get picture in ATI but no sound, and i dont get sound while using the system except for shutdown and startup sounds. Am I having a conflict, please help...thanks!

Update:::

I now took out the ATI card, and i still have no sound except for start and shut, WTF???

make sure to install the new multimedia center 7.1 AFTER u install direcx8 WITH the directx multimedia pack.

Order:
Install DirectX 8
Install DirectX Patch
Install Multimedia 7.1

should work.

You forgot one 😉
You have to install the WDM drivers before MMC 7.1

This works great for me in Win2k and WinXP (BTW: WinXP has the necessary directX 8 bits, so you just need to do the WDM drivers and then MMC).

I took out the ati card and i still dont have sound except for start and shutdown, man my computer is gonna need a reload...

Had the same problem -- then DOH!! -- checked the volume control icon in the tray and found that the control was set to "mute."

Yeah, it that the "line-in" was muted (I think -- on a different computer and can't really check). Just make sure that the connector from the TV tuner to the sound card is hooked into the correct plug -- I have a built-on-motherboard sound system and the ATI TV-tuner VE -- works well.
