Problem with ATI drivers.....please help

I have an ATI Radeon 64mb ddr vivo card. I downloaded the new catalyst 3.2 drivers today. I uninstalled the previous ones and then installed the new ones. All went fine up until I tried to install the new control pannel driver. I gave me an error and would not let me install it. The error said:

InstallShield (R) Setup Launcher has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

then you could click a button to find out more about the error and it said this:

Error signature:

AppName: setup.exe AppVer: 6.11.100.1300 ModName: Setup.exe
ModVer: 6.11.100.1300 Offset: 000017f5

Any ideas? I have tried reinstalling it again and got the same error (by the way I am running win xp pro)

Thanks

I would uninstall the driver and try again with a fresh download of new ATI drivers, try Driver Cleaner 1.1 works for both Ati and Nvidia drivers, there`s a readme file on how to use it (very easy).

Btw disable any anti-virus before install of the drivers.

Did the install setup fail immediately, or did it first unzip ati files into the .../ATI/Support/control panel... directory? I know that in my case ATI installers often fail, but as long as you get the new .inf file you can of course select it manually. That's what worked for me with these new drivers.

Dunno if this helps, but gl 🙂

All I can suggest if you`re still having problems is try a different driver like 3.1 and see if you get the same problem ,if you don`t then could be a driver conflict of some sort when you use the newer ones,if you still get problems then last resort will be a reformat and see if that fixes it.

Close all other programs that run in the taskbar as well while installing, this might help.
