ok, you can check my full systems stats in my profile below, but briefly I run a AMD XP 1800+ on a ECS K7S5A and use a retail Radeon 8500 64mb (usually not overclocked). I had some errors recently and had to reload drivers from scratch and I noticed a problem. The new drivers installed fine (catalyst 2.4) along with the new MMC (multi-media center) and the new DVD player but the problem occured when I installed the new control panel. As soon as I installed it the control panel would crash. When windows starts up that little ATI icon loads up in the task bar but not I get an error message telling me it has to close. This also happens whenever I right-click on the screen, click properties, hit the 'settings' tab, and then click advanced (this is to get to the menus with the AA, AGP speed, and other ATI options)
Anyone else have similar problems and know a fix? It is not really a huge deal as even after it crashes I still can access the menu, but if I can repair it I would like to. Thanks in advance
