problem with asus hdmi out

I have a ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO AM3 AMD 785G. The problem is no sound using hdmi out on windows 7 pro 64bit. I dual boot winxp and win7 and in winxp i get sound using hdmi. Only thing that changes is the os. I have the updated drives from via and hdmi audio is enabled and it's not muted. Can anyone help me get sound out of hdmi on win7 64?

In Windows 7 you have to choose the hdmi as the default sound device instead of 'speakers'

I am having nearly the same problem. The difference is that my setup is strictly Win 7 64. No dual boot.

Thus far Asus tech support has not been able to resolve the problem.

Is it possible this board does not support Win 7 64?

I still cant figure this out. I think it's a driver issue so hopefully they get it fixed.
