My monitor doesn't click on until it is done scanning my ide device and moves to the next screen

Windows XP
athlon 1700+
256 megs ram
ABIT kr7a-raid
ATI Radeon 8500
samsung 753df monitor
 
i suppose you want to see the post screen?
and that's the part that you're missing out on?

try this.
when you boot your computer...
hold down the delete button. that usually is teh button to get you in the bios.
once in...
just exit out

this way your monitor is already 'warmed' up and you should be able to see what's happening.

see if that helps.

We tried that it and it doesn't work. By the way nxhorr is my roommate.

It seems that the problem is more that his video card doesnt click on until the mobo scans for raid. We disabled raid, but that didn't fix it either.
