I have a cat 5 TP cable which runs from one floor to the other, I get a connection on the switch I have and it seems to be working there but I cant ping the computer, its like it is not there. I´m hoping its something else than the cable because it was a bitch getting it there :disgust:
Could it be that the crappy HP NIC on the NT machine just isnt good enough, the cable is rather long, about 8m or so. But it should be ok. The other machine has a 3com NIC.
