I have a P4T-E set at a FSB of 133 using the jumpers. My idle temps are around 32C and after Quake3 about 46C according to motherboard monitor. Everything seems stable except for Wolfenstein. It crashes with various error messages when it tries to load a map. JUst noticed that it crashes in prime95 also.

Any ideas? Do I need more cooling or should I try the pin trick?

PLEASE help me out! I would really appreciate it!

Thanks, Justin

I assume your at max vcore you mobo will allow is why you suggest the pin (wire) trick. This is only my opinion (many others also), your not stable if Prime95 errors. Lower your fsb or increase your vcore. You could try adjusting memory settings also.

WarCon, I'm now at 2.4GHz at 1.68 vcore using the pin trick and jumpers. I can run Prime 95 for a while without errors now but it just gets too hot (around 57C). I'm getting a better cooler than this stock intel one to cool it down a bit.

I would and maybe some added case cooling if you have the places in your case for fans.

Congrats on the overclock though...........:D

What is everyone else getting for overclocked 1.8A temps? Is there a dtabase online somewhere that shows what people are gettting for P4 temps?

I've got 1.8A to 2.4ghz with retail intel hs/fan (just thermal pad no extra grease) and i'm getting 57C max on prime95 but 60C max after running prime95 for 24hrs. I cant remember but i set the voltage to 1.675v in bios and asusprobe reports around 1.7-1.8v. This seems high to me. I am thinking of first replacing the thermal pad with some AS3. If that doesn't help, next thing is to grab a AVC Sunflower which sets me back $35. Anyone know if this is a safe operating temperature?

Those laod temps seem a bit high. I have also heard that asusprobe is sometimes incorrect. I uninstalled it and got motherboard monitor 5.

Read specs below, set to 1.65v in bios, Asus probe says 1.616 to 1.632 vCore. After 30 mins of Prime95 it hits 51C, using a ThermalTake P4 Volcano 478, no extra case fans.

Nightblade: do you have the jumper set to add 0.2v to the default? With that enabled, that's when asusprobe differs from bios setting. With that jumper set to default voltage, asusprobe and bios setting is very close.

That's interesting that with the volcano you still get up to 51C. I think if I just add some thermal paste I could lower my temp a few notches with the retail heatsink...
