Problem with a DAWI 2980 U2W scsi controler...

Hello,

I bought a DAWI U2W scsi controller made in Germany by the unknown company DawiControl and i have a serious problem with it. I use it in a Piii/1Ghz Asus P3CE/256MB RDRAM system to connect two Plector CDR and CDRW (40max,124tsi). I have no scsi hard disks connected, just the two CDs in SE (50pin) internal bus and the last CD terminated. The problem is that controler cannot see any devices on boot. It defaults to LVD bus and doesn't detect the SE chain. It's not a driver problem as it happens on computer bootstrap sequence.
I updated dawi's bios with the latest found in www.dawicontrol.com with success but the problem still exists. I tested another (Adaptec) U2W controler in place of dawi and my cables and CDs worked fine.
The DAWI has two jumper pairs that manual doesn't explain very well. As i know are for terminating or not the controler itself but i'm not sure about positions as the users manual really sucks.

Is there anybody here who knows anything on DAWI controlers as dawicontrol company doesn't email support (!) but only phone based.

Thanks a lot.

Hell even adaptec doesnt give good details on the board jumpers.. I would say if it has auto termination in the boot bios just use that with no jumpers on the board... ensure the adaptor address is IRQ7 and the drives have thier own addy and only the last drive terminated.. otherwise I dont know about that brand. Have you done an internet search for info on that controller?

Pretty sure mastertech01 meant to make sure host adapter scsi ID=7. Inray, with just two jumper pairs, it is probably safe to try different combinations until your drives are found during scsi bios scan.
