Alright, I need your guys' help. I've updated every driver I can think of and Dungeon Siege still won't run. It freezes the screen as soon as I load a game, but the sound still plays. I can't cntrl-alt-delete or alt-tab out of it. Just hold the button for 5-seconds.....

Here's my setup:

MSI 648 MAX (SiS 648 w/ 8x AGP)
Pentium 4 2.53
Corsair XMS 3200 @ 333 2T
ATI Radeon 9700 Pro
Windows XP Pro

Newest Bios, Drivers (6178 for Radeon, newest SiS AGP from MSI's site)

I've got the newest update to Dungeon Siege from logging in to the multiplayer system, but I can't find anything else on any Dungeon Siege sites.

I've tried changing all settings for the Video to lowest quality both in the display properties and in the game; tried setting the memory to conservative settings, everything I can think of.

Also, WCPUID shows 4x, 8x available for AGP and 8x enabled, but in ATI's display details, it shows 1x, 2x, 4x available and 2x enabled! What is going on!?!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I had the exact same problem using my GF4 4600 when the game was first released. Only way I could get the game to run was manually disable AA completely in the video card drivers. I would turn it off and try it.

Here's a thought...Do you have Zone Alarm and/or Firewall software running in the background?
