Problem with 7600 gt ko

I just put my computer together. I have a new 7600gt ko connected to a crappy little 17" Medion LCD monitor. It is connected via the proveded Serial-to-DVI adapter. The image appears "scrambled" You can make out a letter here and there but nowhere close to being able to understand what is on the screen. I switched adapters with no luck. i don't have an extra monitor to test on.

Anyone know what the problem might be?

Problem? EVGA. There's your problem. They OC it too damn high. RMA that shiz if you can't "solve" the problem.

You should download some new drivers for your video card, I guess.

This has nothing to do with the clocks, either the cable is messed up or the card is. There's also the possibility that you're a dumbass and hooked something up wrong, make sure the card is fully in, cables are all straight and stuff.

the problem is with the 7900gt cards, and other companies like xfx and bfg had them too.


the 7600 gt ko is only a 600mhz clocked 1580 ram part. its only a little more than a normal one not 100+ mhz higher like some of their 7900gt ko series.

that said, you porbably broken for some other reason, or possibly one of the pins inside of your dvi adapter is broken.

i'd also suggest trying th OTHER dvi port.

The 7600GT series never had this problem, that's how we know it's not the clocks. There was something wrong with the PCB on the 7900GT.
