I have searched but cannot seem to find a solution to this problem. Anyways, I have a small 802.11b setup here and for some reason whenever I am online, and my roommate boots her laptop, the router stops responding and I lose internet access and she does too. I have to reset the router typically. One person on at a time is fine, but as soon as the other person boots their computer, it all goes kaput. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. (also, I dont have any fancy encryption or anything yet, this is all without any settings for SSID or MAC address).

It is one of the Uniden routers from the hot deal section and two Uniden network cards. Thanks for any help...

You probably just answered your own question. :) There have been a raft of issues with the Uniden routers, they're apparently still working out the bugs. :D

Some wireless routers suck. I had a Linksys BEFW11S4 that would do similar things as your situation. I never had the problem, but I know other people did. dslreports.com often has good info if you are willing to dig for it.

If you are looking to switch models, the netgear mr814 is good. I saw a thread in the HOt Deals forum that said you can get one for $30 after rebates at Office Depot I think.
