I have put a second hard disk in a PC with Windows 2000 and Office XP installed. When i try to open the doc files from the second hard disk i get the message that the user doesn't have the rights to open the file. Also when i try to copy the same files i get the message "Access is denied. The source file may be in use" Any help?

Check to see what permissions are set on the new drive,
I recently had a drive that someone set to "EVERYONE - NO ACCESS"
With this set you cannot copy, paste or do anything on the drive. Not even look into folders.

It sounds like it might be a permissions issue.

If the files are encrypted, the only way you can access those files is to login with the account and OS that you encrypted them with.

The problem is that the Windows isntallation that was on this disk is corrupted, so i can't login, that's why i put this hard disk on another pc

Unless you backed-up your Private Key, then there is no way to access those files.
