Problem when laptop speakers

So I "broke" my laptop headphone jack so now my laptop thinks there's always something plugged into the headphone jack so my laptop speakers would never work even when there's nothing plugged and i always have to use my headphones which isn't always convenient. I was wondering if there was a way I could manually turn the speakers on or if I could replace headphone jack on my laptop?

Also, I apologize if this is under the wrong section.

You would have to repair the headphone jack. There is no why to manually turn on the speaker, unless you are willing to do some soldering on the motherboard.

An easy interim fix would be to connect a set of external speakers. Inside the mini-jack port is a small metal shunt which is pushed over to short out the internal speaker. This shunt appears to be stuck. If you can access it, you may be able to unstick it.
