Problem w/Roxio easy cd creator installation

I purchased a Plextor cdrw that came with Roxio easy cd creater. When I try to intall I get a message stating I need to update my Windows Installation Service. I went to the windows website and could not find a servicepack with it. My OS is 98 SE and the plextor drive is thee 12x10x32a. Does anyone know where I could find an upgrade for the installer.
Thanks,
Tom

I ran into a similar problem (Gave me the error about needing to upgrade the Windows Installer) a while back. To remedy the problem what I did was, I opened up IE, then clicked "Tools" then "Windows Update". When it brings up a webpage, click on "Product Updates". When it gets done doing its thing, it will have a bunch of things to download. I'm pretty sure if you just download and install the Critical Updates that it will fix your problem. Give it a try and tell me how it goes.

WHATEVER you do, donn't download that "ide hard drive" windows update. it will jack your system up so tuff 🙁

Well I heard back from plextor and they said that the upgrade for the installer was in the Roxio folder of the software that came with the drive. What screwd up is why wouldn't this up grade happen automatically if it is needed. Instead its in a folder by itself and has to be manually installed. I shouldn't complain at least it fixed the problem. Thanks for the advice.
