Problem w/Netscape 7.02 - need help

Each time I try to go to any URL, I get a message that "the connection was refused when attempting to contact www.anyurl.com. It started this evening when I made some changes to Cookie Crusher. Since I thought it was a problem w/CC, I deleted it (trial had expired anyway). This didn't help.

I then deleted Netscape & d/l'ed a new installation so I could install from scratch. Got the same msg.

Anyone know what's causing the problem?

Deleted or uninstalled? Uninstall leaves the profile information intact. I'd check the profile to see if it's connecting through a proxy. I'm not familiar with Cookie Crusher, but it sounds like it may modify connection settings somehow.

Uninstall netscape again. Go into regedit and search for "Cookie Crusher" and delete everything that comes up, and then I would search for "Netscape" and delete everything (BUT BE VERY CAREFUL!). Doing this will 1) possibly get you a fresh start on another cookie crusher trial :) 2) will eliminate all settings/junk left from Netscape and CC 3) cleanup your registry a little

After this, install netscape again and see what happens. If pages still won't load, try using IE - does IE work? If so, was netscape configured improperly? maybe to use a proxy? If IE does not work, umm, you should post that :)

Rav3n -

I didn't use IE that much so I didn't configure Cookie Crusher to work w/IE.

I had tried what you suggested before you posted, but it still was acting screwy. I went ahead & d/l'ed an earlier version and it's working fine.

Thx for the help.
