Problem w/ my new Iomega burner and adaptecs software

I installed this drive a few days ago. At that time I burned one cd without a problem. Now it tells me it can't write to that drive because the adaptec kernal is in use?

Anyone else run into this?

is direct cd running in systray when you want to use ez cd ?

At first it was, then I took it out. Which way should it be? Why would the software install itself wrong?

did you stop direct cd from loading at startup in msconfig?
that's what I did!
