Hi,
Having gotten Acrobat 7.0, I have to uninstall 6.0 before I can install the new version. However, the Windows installer somehow got corrupted I think, and it won't let me uninstall the damn thing. I keep getting error messages whenever I try to uninstall 6.0. I tried to manually delete the directory, but it tells me that AcroIEHelper.dll is in use, even when nothing is running in the background.

How can I uninstall this? Thanks!

That's for Adobe Reader, but thanks. I navigated to the uninstallation procedure for Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0, and I followed all the steps. However, when I try to install 7.0, it still detects 6.0 as installed. What's up with that?

I have never tried this with any version of Acrobat, but it worked with other programs. The usual disclaimer applies (backup your data etc.)

You can try to run the 6.0 install again. If it detects 6.0 already installed, the repair option may fix the things so that you can uninstall it after that (there should also be an uninstall option in the installer). If the 6.0 install doesn't detect 6.0 already present, you can install it and then uninstall it so that 7.0 doesn't detect 6.0 installed.

I tried that, but my Acrobat 6.0 CD gives me the same problem when I try to repair or uninstall it.

Anyway, I manually deleted all Acrobat entries from the windows registry and now it works.
