Alright, I have the most recent nvidia drivers on my system for my GeForce 6800 GT, the problem i've been having is BF1942 and now NFS underground 2, will not run any higher than 1024x768!!! I just finished reinstallin windows in an attempt to fix the problem but that did me no good. I'm getting very pissed off at nvidia, i had the same problem with my ti4200 after a certain revision of drivers im not sure what they did but it screwed me over. If ANYONE know's what's going on here please help me!

I think you need to specially enable 1942 to run at a resolution higher than 1024x7268. I'm not entirely certain how you'd do that though. Try here.

I have no problems playing 1942 at the highest setting. Wish it would allow me to run at 1280x1024.

You should be able to edit some file to use whatever resolution you want.

Have you tried to contact the manufacturer of your card? Maybe it is defective and needs to be rma'd.

Can you not select anything above 1024, or is it when you do, it doesn't show up on the screen? If it's the later, it might be because the card is defaulting to a refresh rate that's too high.

No it happened opn my ti4200 as well, and only happens with 61 and newer drivers but my 6800 doesnt work well with drivers older than 61.

It must be monitor related then. If there's not a newer INF file for your monitor, you may have to go mucking around for tools that let you manually define what resolutions and refresh rates your system will let itself run at.

Sorry for the smartass reply. iirc, you need to specially enable resolutions in 1942 in one of the video config files. I don't know which one (or exactly how to do it), so I'd hit google.

Yeah it is, It worked fine with older drivers, and it only happens in BF1942 and Vietnam, and NFS underground 2, all other games are 100% fine at any rez.

The problem is, that while det 56 fixes this, it causes a lot of problems with new cards like the 6800 gt, which is built for 61 or higher.

Do you have this problem with any other game? I have a 6800 Ultra and it lets me pick anything I want as far as resolution is concerned. I am using 6177 forceware.

Both those games you stated are from EA; I think there is where your problem lays. EA makes bug ridden games and refuses to fix the bugs. My Ultra runs all the games I play (Far Cry, D3, HL2, CS:S) like butta.

Nope just with those EA games, i was aware of that, but it is not reported very much when i googled for it. Farcry, CS, HL2, CSS all run perfect if not better :)

lol if its not reported very often via google, its probably because people are tired of complaining about EA with nothing ever getting done about it! :D

Seriously, it is not a problem with your vid card or drivers. Game makers are supposed to ensure that their games are compatible with vid drivers, not the other way around. See if there is something on an EA forum about a work around. I am sure someone has a code hack to fix it.
