Hi. Iv been using the same setup for a while now and my computer has only just started crashing lately. It ONLY crashes when i play games and it usually crashes within about 5-30 minutes. Iv got the latest ATi drivers, iv messed about with various other video drivers and tried different sound drivers also just incase.

When my PC crashes ingame i cant do anything, even my keyboard cuts off for example when i press numlock the numlock led doesnt change once my pc has crashed and it like pulses as if its a power surge. so i have to to press the reboot button in order to use my computer again.

Also when it crashes it usually has a sound loop and it does it constantly until i turn the PC off, regardless of which game i play it still does it, and like i said a few weeks ago it didnt.

Hope anyone can help These are my basic specs and i will try and post a copy of the txt file when i ran DXDIAG.

THX.

IT could be a few things.

#1 temp issue, is your case dust free check CPU and GPU heatsinks for dust and clean with compressed air
#2 Power supply is dieing on you, try a different one
#3 memory dieing on you, run memtest for a few passes

Last resort if the above does not fix your problem OS reinstall.

Cheers for the fast response, hmm yeah it may be a bit dusty but i know that the temps are low because i check them often. The powersupply is a bit old but when i try my other powersupply it still locks ingame. Is the program called memtest?

Okay, i ran the memtest program and it caused my computer to lock up just like it does it games and it never locks up on the desktop, it locked up after about 10 minutes so im certain
that my ram might be causing the problems. Luckily iv got another 2 spare sticks so i will try the other sticks out!
