Problem switching users in XP Home

I've had XP for several months now, but never had to switch users. I have a cable connection, but kept AOL for email, since I had the same email address since 1995. Well, I've finally decided to ditch AOL, since I only use it for email, and it's so limiting (can't block SPAM keywords). This forced me to switch users in XP, so my fiancee and I can use Outlook for email. Well, this morning she was on, and when I tried to switched over, it flashed her wallpaper, and went back the the "switch user" screen. I tried that several times, and decided to log her off completely. It then went to her wallpaper, but no toolbar or icons. It was locked. So I had to hard boot, and everything worked after that. Has anyone else had this problem? I hope it doesn't happen again.
