I have 2 computers (each running XP) that are connected to a switch. Computer A can ping computer B. Computer B can't ping A.
I put in a different NIC in B and still get the same problem. If one can ping the other, doesn't that rule out a hardware problem?
On Computer A, both computers show up under the workgroup. If I try to access Computer B, from A, I get the message "\\A is not accessible. You do not have permission to use this network resource."
Both computers are using simple file sharing, so permissions shouldn't be required.
On Computer B, when I try to open the workgroup, I get a message that the workgroup is not accessible and I do not have permission to use this network resource.
