Problem saving settings in firefox extension

When I start up firefox and go to the setting it appears like this with the "open in current tab" circle checked. When I set it to normal the settings will only stay until I restart firefox then it goes back to this. How can I get it to stay at the same settings? I hit apply and everything when I am done. I just don't get it. No matter what I do it sets itself back.

Anybody have any ideas?

I didn't like tabbrowser extensions, it slowed down firefox greatly. I use tabbrowser preferences instead.
