Problem Saving Files With Windows XP

Crism

Ok ever since I clicked the little box that says "Always ask before opening this type of file" when I click on a link to download a zip file, it automatically just downloads and opens it for me. I DO NOT WANT IT TO DO THIS. How can I get back the properties to change it back to asking me to Open it or Save it?

Thanks, Steve

Open Windows Explorer and go to:

TOOLS \ FOLDER OPTIONS \ FILE TYPES
a choose the type of file you want the prompt for (ie. ZIP, PCX, JPG, etc..)

click ADVANCED

check the 'Confirm open after download'
