hi,
i have a little problem, at school i downloaded call of duty black ops and burned on a dvd+r DL using the vista burner and at home i wanted to open the dvd to install my game but it doesn't work. The dvd spins a little and stops and when i try to open the drive, it tells me to insert a disk. Then i tried a different DL blank disk and it works.

I have a ASUS K61ic laptop running on windows 7 32 bit

Is the disk damaged or what??:'(

Probably not. Try a firmware update for your DVD drive. It used to be quite common for PC's not to read eachothers burned disks.

Be careful with updating the firmware for your drive. See this post on another forum suggests possible problems:

I'm using a Asus K61IC laptop. After updating firmware from their site drive lost all functionality, simply looking for older firmware to try and solve the issue, currently looking for anything below HA28, HA24 preferred. Thanks to anyone who can help 🙂

DISCINFO VERSION : 1.7.0 BETA.12
VENDOR : Slimtype
MODEL : DVD A DS8A3S
REVISION : HA28

Manufacturers can use several kinds of drives in a particular model of machine so start by identifying the make and model of the drive in your machine and the current firmware version. Find the listing for the drive in Device Manager, and check the properties. Then, check Asus' and the drive manufacturer's site for the latest firmware.

Before you flash your drive, be sure to search Google for user issues with various versions you may find. This program, Discinfo, may help, as well. 🙂

That can happen sometimes when you pirate games.
