Problem playing DVDs with Radeon 8500

Hi I just got a new Radeon 8500 and I installed ATI DVD 5.0 but when I start it I get a splash screen then a BSOD.

Running lastest drivers for XP.

Any idea why it does this.

Mine works fine in XP, what kinda BSOD is it?
