Problem: Nothing Appears After Rig Turn On

I just built a new rig, with the following specs.

DFI NFII Ultra Infinity
AMD Athlon XP-M 2600+
PC 3500 Muskin 1024 MB of RAM
PNY GeForce 6800 GT 256 MB
7200 RPM Maxtor 200 GB HD
Antec 550W True Control
Samsung DVD/CD-RW Combo Drive
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS

The problem I've having is that the machine turns on, but it doesn't show anything on the monitor; no POST.
The rig turns on - lights, fans, hard drives, everything... but nothing appears on the monitor; just a blank screen. I've tried removing all PCI cards, except the video card and the same problem still exists. I've already determined that it's not the video card (tested the rig with another video card and the problem still exists; the GeForce 6800 works in the other machine too). What could be the problem?

First thing you should do is try it on a different monitor.

Just tried it and same problem occurs. I think it has something to do with the motherboard. Any other suggestions?

I had that same issue and if i remember correctly it was jumper settings on the motherboard. Not sure if your board has any such settings but its worth a shot.

I had this problem it was a bad motherboard. I hope this isn't the case for you.

Unfortunately, it appears that way. I've been fiddling with this motherboard all night, gutting it to barebones, testing each component, still no go. Looks like I'll have to return it and wait for a replacement. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.


Oh well, at least I can look at my 6800 GT and imagine how games will run on it while I wait for a new board. Sigh...
