Hey guys,
Need a little assistance.

My PC was down, needed to install XP, didnt have the correct CD. It would start up ( and stop , because I didnt have XP installed)
I finally got XP, and then when I turn on the PC. The Montior Light: Starts off Green and then goes back to Orange, and thus I cant do anything.

I didnt change anything regarding the Video Card, between the time periods when it was and wasnt working.
I took out the card and put in another spare card, no luck

Please some assistance.
thanks

Check the monitor plug and make sure you didn't bend or snap off a pin in it. Ihad the exact same problem once when I moved the PC to another room. There was a pin snapped off (I found it on the floor later on). I was lucky, the cable wasn't one of those attached ones a lot of monitors have so it was an easy fix.

This is just one of those times...
When your video card doesn't work.
Cause your mobo sucks. (It's happened to me several times...)...

pre-check...
=Make sure molex is plugged in if necessary.
=Make sure no shorts
=Make sure the video card is in correctly. Reseat it if you must.

Something you should check. Does your optical drives turn on now?... For if it doesn't. or even if it does. try this...

1)Turn off your power supply.
2)Take out the 12v 4 pin, 5 secs later, plug it back.
3)Take out the 12v 20-24 pin, 5 secs later, plug it back.
4)Turn on. see if it works...

I do this several times... Stressful for me..
Course this might not be the case for you.
