Problem logging onto wireless network

So I just moved into my aunt's house and I can't seem to get her wireless connection to work with my laptop. Everytime I try to connect the network won't assign me and IP address and I get the error:

"Windows was unable to find a certificate to log you on to the network [SSID]"

I looked around and the only thing I found for this error was that the encryption for the network needed to be set to wpa-psk which it is, or the IEEE 802.1x authentication had to be turned off, but the box for that is greyed out and automatically unchecked anyway.

I am stumped. I don't have access to the router controls and I'm pretty sure the problem is on my end anyway. Any ideas? My wireless card is an Intel PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini.

intel proset changes nothing. The entire time it says "aquiring network address" and nothing happens.

Any ideas? The intel proset drivers show 802.1x authentication as on, but I am not able to uncheck it. With proset all I see is aquiring network address, but obviously its never aquired.
