Problem loading internet pages

Please help! Don't know what happened but I have IE7, Firefox2.0 and Opera on my computer. All of a sudden I started having problems gewtting pages to load. Many internet pages in Firefox say they are done and the page is blank. I have to refresh 1 or 2 times to get the page to show up. It happens in all the browsers so must be an internet problem. I have TimeWarner cable.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

My system is fast and up to date.

Quick assumption: You called your ISP and they stated everything is fine on their end and the support you need is out of their scope?

If so, please answer:

1. Is this a new broadband connection? How long have you had it?
2. Are there multiple computers sharing this connection? If so do they have the same symtoms?
3. Are you using wireless?
4. Have you ran ping test? Latency ploss issues?
5. Do you have a software firewall?
6. Are you using a router? Maybe two (NATx2)?
7. Remove any spyware recently? LSP issues?

There are normally causes and effects to most issues, and I can almost guess there is something new/modified that you overlooked. ISPs do have problems at times, but normaly most problems are user related. However, I may be wrong but from what you stated I can't justify that. Your goal now is to prove me wrong =)

Thanks for assistance. Here's what makes this strange.
1. Time Warner cable - same for 15 months - no change
2. 3 computers - only mine has problem - my other computer
and my wife's are fine.
3. Other 2 use wireless, mine is a desktop and plugged
directly into router and hasn't changed in 15 months.
4. Ping is fine. Don't know about latency ploss issues but will
lookup
5. ZoneAlarm - again same for 15 months
6. Netgear-same for 15 months
7. Run Kaskersky AV and ZA firewall and have no spyware
8. No proxy

Thanks again

What I recommend to help you isolate since this is exclusive to your computer

1. Power cycle the modem then router afterwards. Don't hit any reset buttons, just yank the power for a few secs and plug back in modem first.
2. Check your physical connection, kinks or any damage.
3. Temporarily disable ALL your software firewalls to rule that out.
4. Repair your TCP/IP stack - "netsh winsock reset catalog" SP2 only- removal of spyware may damage your LSP
5. Was this after your upgrade to IE 7.0? Can you relate the problems to a specific change on the system?
6. Try a direct connection to the modem and see if issues are still present.
7. Run a tracert and paste here if you haven't fixed it by now.

tweekah,
1. Did the "netsh winsock reset catalog"
2. Will power down modem and router now.
3. Physical connection ok
4. Disabled ZoneAlarm and will try that for a while

5. tracert 10.1.1.6 Pasted below

6. Seemed to happen after putting on Firefox 2.0 so I went back to 1.5. IE7 seemed ok but problem is with all browsers

Thanks for the help

Something tells me your problem is with your first hop. Check your host file. Where did you get 10.1.1.6 from?

Are you connecting to VPN?
