I have Win2k on C: and I'm trying to install winXP on D:. I've tried starting the install from within win2k, booting from the XP CD, and even transferring everything on the CD to my hard drive and installing from my HD.
The problem is each time I get to the light-blue screen where there's a list of things to do for the install on the left, I get an error when it gets to "installing windows xp". Every time, it says that the there was a parse error reading the file "controls.man" located in the \I386\ASMS\6000\MSFT\WINDOWS\COMMON\CONTROLS directory on the CD. It says the file contains only zeros or something like that...
It can't be because my CD is bad because I've tried different versions of winXP and got the same error... Does anyone know what that file does?
