I'd just bought a used 73 Raptor from a user in this forum, I had 2x80gb SATA RAID0 as my main windows drive before. Now I want to install a fresh O/S on my raptor, and use the RAID0 drives for gaming.
When I was tring to install windows xp onto the raptor, it had no problem formatting, but when my computer restarts after copying all the window files, it stops at dos w/ an error message of "error loading O/S"

Anyone has any idea what went wrong? Do I need to change the drive sequence in BIOS?

My hardware profile:
AMD64 3800+
Asus A8N SLI Deluxe
2x1gb OCZ DDR400
2xEVGA 6600GT
Audigy 2ZS Platinum Pro
WD 73gd Raptor in a Vantec HD Removable Rack
2x80 SATA RAID0
XEON 600watt PSU
Sony DVD
DigitalMax DVD-R

you need to change the boot order of your hard drives in the bios.
typically "error loading OS" means that the bios is telling it to use a different hard drive for the main hard drive.

There should be a setting that says Hard drive boot priority or hard drives or hard drive priority

just make the raptor the first one in the list.

No it doesn't.

Windows writes a disk signature on the physical device, so even if you move the disk around cable wise even, it shouldn't change the Drive letter.
