Problem in user profiles (USER ERROR)

Looks like there's a bit of a problem with the homepage link in the user profiles. On the page, it will show the link as it is supposed to be (ie www.geocities.com/myfancyhomepage), however, when you actually click on that link, a new window pops up with http://forums.anandtech.com/www.geocities.com/myfancyhomepage.

Just thought I'd bring that issue up. Unless it's an undocumented feature, that is. 😉

Oh... hmm... it looks like the problem stems from the person not entering in the preceding http:// in the address field. If they did enter that in, then it (obviously) works fine.

Simple praetor, those are users that aren't putting in the full http:// url, that is not a board problem its a user issue. Users should know a url isn't just www.blah.com a url is http://www.blah.com. The reason we leave it wide open is to allow users to put any kind of link they want in there.
 
Ah. Gotcha. I guess some of us have just gotten used to our browsers or even certain web forms tacking it on for us. 🙂
