If I did that bad in my last two quarters, Purdue would have told me to bite the big one.

It's a lot worse doing bad at the end of high school then it is at the beginning of it. This quarter isn't over yet, try to do the best you can. You sure as hell aren't going to stay in a nice university if you aren't going to take school at least somewhat seriously.

Wow, how could you slack off knowing that if you do well you'd get a full ride? I guess I just don't see how someone could do that...

Damn, you get a full ride and you get F's and D's your last two quarters? I doubt that ride will be a full trip now, probably now just a small grant or something.. You could try and see if you can get the grades up to C's and B's..

I think you better try to make up those grades. The teachers should be sympathetic. yeah it sucks, if you slack too much they make your work way more.

Did you nef too much at ATOT?

I feel sorry for ya, whatever the reason was. Just think about an approach that will give you the least amount of loss and go for that.

Also, don't take the approach of "expensive failure" - as in "try as hard as you can" without really know what you're doing. Judge your situation objectively and ask for more specific help on dealing with the issues. Do the best you can to keep your college acceptance and/or the extra grants they gave you.

Good luck.

My advice to you would be to talk to your teachers/professors about bringing up your grade, talk to an academic advisor about where you stand, and start busting butt and applying yourself.

I would DEFINATELY speak to an advisor at your school. BTW, are we talking about the University of Florida? :D

Hmmmmm.

If I was your parent I'd be kicking your a$$ clear around the block and make you live in the garage with the dogs. Unless you've been having some huge problems lately, and I don't mean gf problems, there isn't hardly any excuse considering your previous performance.

Turn your computer off unless you need it for research. Forsake your friends and social life from now until the end of the school year and spend every waking minute cramming and kissing up to your teachers to let you do extra work to bring your grades up. My God, you have the opportunityof a lifetime.

You need to step up to the plate and try your best to bring your grades up. If you get Fs, will you still graduate? How does that work for you? The university made the offer to you, but they could also take it away. However, there should be some guidelines that go along with that offer. I'm sure they've dealt with similar situations. However, more than anything else, you need to step it up here and get yourself in gear.

Uhhh.. why is everyone being so harsh on him? Everyone doesn't need college. He will do what he wants to do. I'm also a senior(although I have just a couple d's all throughout HS and no F's), I don't have a free ride, nor am I even planning on attending a college. I still believe success will be mine, though- and I also have a plan.

I don't even understand why he comes here asking to for opinions though. If he wants to make something happen for himself he needs to get a good plan and stick to it. The clear choice is for him to work hard, and kiss teacher ass. although this is definitely not what i would do.

I agree with not being too harsh on him. He's probably learned his lesson. If not, he'd better god dang learn it quick! UC's will take away your acceptance if you get anything lower then a C- at the end of your senior year and if you drop any college prep classes. That, and some other stuff...

You better start begging your teachers and bust your @ss studying. You still got SOME time.

Just don't get F's. You can slack, but don't go comatose. I don't understand how you can have a free ride and get Ds though... I'm not the smartest guy but I got good grades through high school. When I started slacking I turned stuff in late, spent about 1 - 2 hours/week maximum on homework, skipped a bunch of classes, and still got Bs, and that was in the honors/AP classes. Have you been making an effort to get bad grades? Because that defeats the purpose of slacking ;).
