problem getting rid of partition magic popup

I used an (apparently) older version of partition magic to try and resize a system partition and add another after it. The operation failed, computer rebooted, and everything was fine. I managed to get the change done with a usb-stick of gparted.

However, now I have a problem that everytime i boot up, I get a message saying "Partition magic is about to ... blah blah blah".

Any idea how to get rid of PM's repeated attempt to change something everytime i boot up?

nevermind, it seems i was googling the wrong terms. I have since found a registry hack to fix the problem, but haven't yet had a chance to try it.
