After careful examination of my Dataexpert TX531 socket7 board (got 2 dimm), I found 2 chips..
Acer M1531 B1 9743Ts05 cbd11 751000d and
Acer M1543 B1 9738 TS6 CD1317200E
I'm guessing that this is Aliddin 4+ chipset.
(could be just Aladdin4)
I 'heard' that ram is cacheble upto 512MB with 11bit tag sdram.
What's a tag?????

When i went to the parts shop, I merely asked whether I can pu a pc133 stick in old pentium board since I have 2 dimm slots. He said it's unlikely that it would work.. 🙁
But I found this document. and this one.

It says it supports 64M-bit (16M*4, 8M*8, 4M*16) technology DRAMs. What does this mean? And.. is my northbridge a 1531B or just plane 1531..? 🙁

I'm planning to use 2 128mb pc133 sdram memory sticks in this board.. Can I do it?

Alladin 4? No clue...but my old Aladdin V board used PC66, so if its basically the same, you could use PC133, it just wouldn't run at 133.

Ok.. I bought the sdram..guess what.. it doesn't fit.. 🙁 🙁
Now can I cry now?
Anyways, it's very strange.
The volatage/Dram key postition matches with the key notches along the connector edge of the DIMM slot.So the module slip easily (0 force needed) into the slot but don't snap into the place..although they are aligned. (does it have to be snap into the place??) maybe it's snaped but I wouldn't know since this is first time for me to install a sdram. But so far so good.
Anyways, when I try to lock DIMM ejector tab into place in the notch on the side of the DIMM, it doesn't fit! The tab is about good 3mm short of the notch(hole) of the module! 'Damn'.. so i thought.. 'maybe I'll push the mudule into the slot with some serious force', and I did. But it didn't go in any deeper...'what the,,,'
I compared the module I bought with the module in the picture of a book.
Theyu look different!
The one in the picture has one small on middle and one large notches on top on the side while mine only has small a one. "but it doesn't really matter since the tab doesn't even reach the middle one..' I thought..

Now I'm stuck,. what is the problem and how can I fix this expensive situation?
