Problem filling 4 memory slots.

I have two 4GB kits with two sticks in each kit for a total of 8GB.
When I run two sticks (rows 1 & 3) the system is perfectly stable but when I fill all four slots the system becomes about as stable as Charles Manson.
Both kits work perfectly when used alone so I know I'm not dealing with a faulty stick.
Yes the system is overclocked but the problem persists when I run without being overclocked.
Both kits are identical. System information in my signature.

Up NB voltage
Make sure tRFC is set to 55+
Make sure Performance Level aka tRD is set loose initially, i'd say at least 10-12+ (you'll want to tighten this bigtime later)

Try different ratios

Now here's what you likely don't want to hear.

I'm dumping my POS DFI P35-T2R as fast as i can get my hands on an Asus P5Q Deluxe.

Why?

I have had the exact same BS since i bought my DFI.

And i've spent hours, actually overall more like days upon days tweaking every goddamn setting & subtiming for RAM in the bios only to still end up fucked.

I can run both my CPU & RAM underclocked 1:1 & have the shit fail.

It's beyond comprehension in my case.

One thing i find works for me is the 2:3 ratio.

I don't know why, but it's the only ratio that's stable.

It's not 100% stable IMO, since it will still eventually fail HCI Memtest, which is my ultimate tester.
It will pass P95 Blend for 12+ hrs, or Memtest86+ forever, but that's because both those applications are a joke for stressing 8 GB (which is why i use HCI).

Good luck & pardon my pent up rage toward DFI...i like the mobo, but it's utter shit for 6 or 8 GB (oh yes, i've tested with 3x2 GB a ton as well).

N7 that was 6 mos. of Venom...

When you told me you were retiring your old P5B.. I was concerned when you said DFI... but Wow.. Yeah you are getting back home to ASUS !! being an early adopter there should not be too bad..

You are always the voice of patience, and reasoning.

I have played with a few other P35's also, and share your Angst !

My personal MOBO will run it stable, but a couple friends have bought a few of the others in the series, and they run into the same issues..

The Memory Controllers are not really designed to run this way, that is why it is luck of the draw like every other piece of silicon.
