My dad got a dell 6400 laptop with an 80 gig hd and vista buissness installed on it. after a while, my dad got sick of windows vista and decided he wanted to dual boot XP and vista because vista ran so slow. I installed EasyBCD and his computer and set up XP as the G drive. His XP worked, but whenever he goes to standby, his pc blue screens. is there anyway to bypass this?

thanks,

me

i meant not have a blue screen >.<

After it says what youshould do and everything, it says this

Technical information:

*** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, OxB1F203B8, 0xBA13BOAC, 0x00000000)

*** HSX_CNXT.sys - Adress B1F203B8 base at B1E7C000, DateStamp 45366d81

and then the dump of memory thing

thanks

HSX_CNXT.sys is a modem driver. Check for an update for it, or if you arent using a modem, disable it....

At this point I can only confirm that I am having an identical problem with a Dell 6400 was delivered with Vista and then had XP installed on it. I did not use any boot loader, I just put XP right on it. I can confirm that it happens the second it tries to go into standby and that the error is

*** STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, OxB1XXXXXX, 0xBXXXXOAC, 0x00000000)

*** HSX_CNXT.sys - Adress B1XXX3B8 base at B1XXX000, DateStamp 45366d81

as well. (The XXX = a different digit from the first posters report. All other digits are identical)

Has anyone found a solution for this?

Thats the driver for your onboard modem. If your not using it, try disabling or removing it...
