Problem: Computer dies with fans still working

Recently my computer has just been spontaneously dying with everything shutting down but my fans keep spinning and the led's on them stay lit. The power on/off buttons and reset buttons don't work. The only way I can get my computer back up and running is if I unplug the power cord from the back of the PSU and plug it back in. I tried just switching the power supply off by itself but when I switched it back on I just got an idling, dead computer. Any thoughts?

Chances are, firstly, that your header connections (from your case) are mixed up - this is easy to do -
Take time over these - it is nice to have a functional power button and see when the hdd is being accessed.

Also, if plugged in wrong, I can imagine they could conceivably cause problems - not saying that this is the cause, but if you can post back confirming that all is good in that area, then we can play.
