Problem changing multiplier on Mobile Barton

I have a 2400+ Mobile Barton which is supposed to have the multipliers unlocked but no jumper setting on my L7S7A2 will give me anything but 13.5 as the multiplier which is default. On my 1000 Tbird which I did the pencil trick on I could choose any multiplier I wanted. Does anyone know of a problem with the Mobiles or is there something I can do to my board to make the jumpers work again? I have tried it with both the shipping bios and the chb0127 bios.

No clue....The only thing I can say is to try the pin mod trick. My MB was the other way around. No multipliers at all in the bios so I was stuck at 6x. I had to grab a rear window defogger repair kit and short the certain CPU pins to get the multiplier I wanted (12.5x). It was pretty easy to do, (just have to take your time to be precise) and I'm sure the conductive paint is easy to gently scrape off with the end of a small paper clip if you ever wanna change it. Dunno if that would solve your problem or not...

before doing anything like pin modding, make sure its a mobile and that they didn't send you the wrong thing

Its a mobile, but on another board someone said my board doesn't support multiplier adjustment for mobile processors. Maybe that is it, but don't know for sure. I may try the pin mod or wire trick just to see if I can get more than 172 FSB stable.
